Hi, I’m Jillian!
I help business owners stop avoiding their finances and start actually understanding them.
Not in a "here's your monthly report, good luck" kind of way. In a "let me actually explain what this means for YOUR business" kind of way.
Because there's a big difference between having a bookkeeper and having someone who actually gives a damn about what happens to your business.
Here's how I got here...
A couple of years ago, a friend was venting about her bookkeeper. I said — out loud, to her face — "I can do that better."
She said "okay, hired."
That was 2.5 years ago. She's still my client today.
I'd spent almost 10 years in corporate finance by that point — FP&A, analytics, financial reporting — watching companies generate endless reports that nobody ever looked at or understood. Work that existed to make shareholders richer, not to actually help anyone.
I was tired of it.
I wanted to do work that made a real difference for real people. So I stopped waiting for the perfect moment and started.
What I actually do
I'm a bookkeeper AND a data translator.
Clean books are the foundation. But what I really do is take your numbers and tell you what they mean — for your goals, your decisions, your business.
Most of my clients are creative, driven women who are GREAT at what they do. The books just aren't their thing. (Not a character flaw. Just not what you built your business to do.)
I bring order to the chaos. No judgment, no jargon, no disappearing after I send your reports.
A little more about me
When I'm not in the books, I'm playing roller derby (yes, really) and also doing the accounting for the nonprofit that runs it, because apparently I can't turn it off.
At home I have a retired racing greyhound and an English Bulldog who take my work-life balance very seriously. (They're both asleep on the couch right now, probably.)
Credentials, if you're into that kind of thing
Bachelor's in Finance + two MBAs
Nearly 10 years in finance and analytics
Xero Certified
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
If you've been putting off getting your books in order because it feels like too much of a mess...
That's exactly what this is for.
There's no situation too chaotic, no "I've been ignoring it for two years" too embarrassing.
We start where you are. That's it.
